Creative alternatives to traditional counseling

The KANBI mission is to share knowledge and understanding of the counseling field with others. KANBI Therapy would like to ensure that EVERYONE has an opportunity to try therapy no matter the income, age, or lifestyle.

KANBI Therapy has been created due to many requests that Kimberly-Ann Norwood received from other counseling therapists. These therapists requested to have written forms of the on-the-go creative activities that they observed. Kimberly-Ann also decided to create this program due to emails and interactions with individuals that wanted to attend private counseling, however due to scheduling, finances, and fear have not done so.

She states that, “Over time, I’ve learned how to engage children and provide them with the techniques and coping skills that have helped them improve their behaviors both at school and home”. Kimberly-Ann has developed a unique system for sessions, which she incorporates into the activities posted on this website. She created the Kanbi Program for Kids to help other therapists and parents reach children that struggle with mental health issues.

Kimberly-Ann developed the JumpStart program due to observations of need for many adults. She understands the struggle that many adults face to attend counseling due to conflicts related to money, time, or embarrassment. She has worked hard to create a program to help these adults embark on a path to wellness. Much like the Kanbi Program for Kids, these Activities for Reflection have been incorporated in therapy.
